Big Brothers Big Sisters of North Wellington

Big Brothers Big Sisters School Based Programs are already making a huge difference in the lives of children in our community and this grant will help bring that difference to even more students.

Mentoring makes a Big Difference!
*90% of mentors saw a positive change in the child they were mentoring
*88% of students showed improved literacy skills
*64% had developed higher levels of self-esteem
*85% of ISM volunteers feel they have a positive influence on the community
*89% felt better about themselves
*66% are prouder of the company they work for

"We have wonderful schools and students in North Wellington and we are excited to be part of that through our In School Mentoring Program" says Marnie Mainland, Coordinator of the Mentoring program.
